2013In this year Joachim Sieber was announced as an "IBM Rational Champion“ again. Furthermore Roland Müller is happy about his new title "IBM Rational Champion of the Year 2013".
Besides that PKS is no longer JUST a Premier Business Partner of IBM, but also ready for another step in IT future. Software applications, software solutions and software modernisation valuations have been tested and PKS is now ready for the next step: IBM Pure Systems.
IBM Pure Systems combines the flexibility of an universal system, the elasticity of cloud computing and the simplicity of an appliance. These solutions offer uncompromising integration and integrated expertise based on experience for decades to provide a consistent IT management concept.
2012Joachim Sieber is "IBM Rational Champion of the Year 2012".
2011Because of effective projects within the past year PKS succeeded to win the "IBM Rational Award for Enterprise Optimization" another time.
2010Within Innovate 2010 in Orlando, Florida PKS was given the "IBM Rational Award for Enterprise Optimization".
2008For the first time ever, PKS is offering its range of products for application modernization and migration to mainframe customers this year. Thanks to the sophisticated technology, initial pilot projects were carried out on time and on budget, at ATOS Origin in just 9 months for example and with an 11-month ROI and 55% savings in operating costs. Another pilot project concerns Software AG customers: PKS efficiently converted Natural MAPs into web front ends with SmartMAP. The result can be seen in all Apollo-Optik branches in Germany and Austria.
2007PKS has evolved into the world's number one vendor for modernization and migration tools (over 1,300 installations and more than 37,000 end users worldwide) and now has 40 employees on its staff. New ground is broken: IBM EGL, the all-in-one package solution for System i application modernization.
2002The Server Builder® for batch transformation from System i (AS/400 / iSeries) dialog applications is introduced.
2001The new product for the migration of Adabas C applications to relational database systems, SmartCDI®, goes on the market.
1998Reengineering & migration project with DaimlerChrysler.
1998PKS is founded by Karlheinz Peter, Dr. Richard Schillinger and Martin Knöpfle with the goal of offering state-of-the-art migration technologies. The company's first projects involve migrating from IBM S/36 to Datapoint for the Ford Bank, Kienzle to UNIX and downsizing from IBM4381 to AS/400.
1997Thanks to the tool's object-oriented design, a Windows NT version of Migration Tools 400 is able to be developed. All together, more than 40 ISVs around the globe generate Windows NT and UNIX versions of their AS/400 apps. More than 15,000 end users (status: 12/31/2003) work on more than 700 productive installations in Windows NT and UNIX.
1996With the support of HP, SUN, Oracle and more than 20 AS/400 ISVs, the tool is intensively further developed. The first product version supports the RS/6000, HP9000 and SUNSolaris platforms. The first UNIX end users go live with the migrated applications.
1993PKS decides to develop a standard tool for the conversion from AS/400 applications to UNIX. For this purpose, technicians deal very intensively with the assembly and function of OS/400 and UNIX operating systems, attaining an excellent degree of knowledge about language conversion, database transformation and middleware technology.
1991PKS gets the bid on the first migration projects from AS/400 to RS6000 from IBM. This was the birth of the migration technology AS/400 to UNIX.
